The Advantages of a Table Top BBQ Grill

When it comes to outdoor cooking, convenience and versatility are key. The tabletop LotusGrill BBQ grill offers several advantages that make it the ideal choice for family-friendly gatherings:

  1. Portability: The tabletop BBQ grill is designed to be easily transported, making it perfect for on-the-go cooking adventures. The LotusGrill tabletop BBQ grill standard is compact and lightweight. It can be set up on any sturdy surface, such as a picnic table or a countertop, without occupying too much room. This makes it an excellent choice for small outdoor spaces or apartments with limited balconies. The LotusGrill XL is perfect for family gatherings of six or more.
  2. Easy to Use: Don't let its size fool you - the tabletop BBQ grill is incredibly easy to use. Apply and light the gel, place the container with charcoal and grill on top. The simple setup with a dial lets you adjust the heat and cooking time to your desired preference.
  3. Versatility: The tabletop BBQ grill is a true multi-tasker. It can handle various foods, from juicy steaks and burgers to grilled vegetables and seafood. Use the teppanyaki plate to griddle fluffy pancakes and omelettes in the morning, flip it over and grill delicious burgers, veggies, or fish at night. It's like combining a breakfast griddle and a grill into one convenient appliance.
  4. Cool to touch: The LotusGrill tabletop BBQ grill has a double wall. The inner wall helps retain the heat the hot coal generates and channels it upward. The colourful outer wall creates a double wall, ensuring the outer skin stays cool to the touch, preventing accidents with enthusiastic, curious children.
  5. Extra safety: The innovative concept of the LotusGrill prevents charcoal from spilling out should the LotusGrill topple over. The charcoal is held in a container with a lid. A little fan helps to circulate the heat. This means you can cook for your family worry-free. You can even move the LotusGrill mid-cook!

Exploring the LotusGrill

Regarding outdoor tabletop BBQ grills, the LotusGrill stands out from the rest. This gourmet grill is perfect for 4-6 people and the XL version caters for even more. Easy to light, you are ready to cook within minutes! Use the grill, pizza stone or teppanyaki plate to customise your cooking experience. The lids have a temperature gauge, so you can control the temperature perfectly.

The LotusGrill is available in red, blue, green, purple, orange and anthracite.

Tips for Using the LotusGrill tabletop BBQ Grill

To make the most out of your LotusGrill, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  1. Preheat the Grill: Always preheat the grill for a few minutes before you cook. This way, the cooking surface heats evenly.
  2. Use the Right Cooking Temperature: Different foods require different cooking temperatures, so control the cooking temperature with the dial so everything is cooked perfectly.
  3. Flip and Rotate: To achieve even cooking, flip and rotate your food regularly. This helps to ensure that all sides are cooked as you desire.
  4. Don't Overfill the Grill: Don't overfill the surface with food and ensure proper airflow. Make sure you leave a little bit of space between the food on the grill. This allows the heat to circulate evenly and ensures that each piece of food cooks correctly.

A fire has never looked so good. The Solo Stove Fire Pit is the best bonfire you've ever experienced. As Solo Stove fire pit UK retailer, we are proud of this innovative product. The patented technology ensures a nearly smokeless burn, cleaner than any outdoor fire pit. The Solo Stove Ranger and Bonfire are ultra-portable, so you can take it on all of your outdoor adventures, including camping, road trips, beach bonfires, or even just keeping it in the back garden for a simple and convenient option for nights at home.

Choosing the right size fire pit for your needs is an important decision. Many people think they need a large fire pit to accommodate their family and friends, but this isn't always the case. Consider the average number of people you entertain in the garden. Combine this consideration with the space you have available before deciding on a fire pit size.

For example, if you have two people to four people over and you live in a small apartment or courtyard, it might be best for you to choose a smaller size. Maison Flair provides 3 sizes of Solo Stove fire pits. The smallest one is the Ranger. Our bestseller is the Bonfire, perfect for the average size family gathering. The largest one in the range is the Yukon, perfect if you often entertain large groups of people.

Comparing Solo Stove Fire Pits

To determine which Solo Stove is the best to match for you, we compared the fire pits side by side. We provide all our Solo Stove Fire Pits as kits, so you will also receive a practical stand to prevent surface heat damage and a practical carrier bag.

The benefits of a Solo Stove Bonfire

Innovative design using double walls with strategically placed air vents creates a constant airflow for an extra hot, nearly smokeless fire. The vent holes near the top of the burn chamber disperse hot air fuelling the fire. This creates the eye-catching, spectacular combustion that burns away the smoke. The result? A nearly smokeless fire!

The perforated precision base plate allows oxygen to be fed directly to embers, causing the fire to burn hotter. The result is minimal ash collected at the bottom of the fire pit in the ash pan, preventing the airflow from clogging up.

The ash pan also acts as a heat shield and together with the provided stand your fire pit sits on prevents it from scorching the ground beneath it.

A practical fire ring keeps the fire centred and even. It sits securely on the top and when turned upside down, nests inside the Solo Stove fire pit for simple storage.

Made of high quality 304 & 430 stainless steel, the Solo Stove fire pits are perfect for burning chunk firewood and split logs.  All Solo Stoves have a durable carry case with handles for easy transport!

Enjoy a beautiful, wood-burning fire without the smoke sticking to your clothes.

Is the best patio heater an eco-friendly one? Traditionally, to make the most of our outdoor space and lengthen the evenings spent outside in comfort, we often gather around a fire bowl or fire pit. Unfortunately, the smokiness of a proper fire or the difficulty of getting and keeping a good fire going can, however, be offputting.

We all want to be warm and comfortable as we increasingly spend more time outside socialising. A true sign of the times. Many of us have discovered the significant benefits of a warm and cosy area in the garden. We all want to be warm and comfortable as we spend time outside, and many of us have discovered the significant benefits of a heat source outside. Whether it's to entertain guests or simply enjoy the fresh air for as long as possible.

The gas patio heater offered a low maintenance alternative but times change. Traditionally, they were in high demand. With the growing drive to be eco-friendly in everything we do, using fossil fuels is increasingly frowned upon. Combined with the current gas fuel crisis, the gas patio heater is increasingly expensive to run.

In addition, eco-friendliness and sustainability now feature high on the list of criteria when shopping. Everyone is looking for environmentally friendly products. No longer is the best patio heater gas-fuelled. Nowadays, people are looking for a sustainable fuel alternative.

Having experienced a pandemic, the need for a private outdoor space has grown. Gardens are getting more attention and patios with comfortable seating are now a must-have. Outdoor living is a growing trend despite the British climate. Outdoor heating is the new normal and outdoor heaters are now in high demand.

Choosing your patio heater

The traditional gas patio heater was a natural first choice. A steady heat, easy to regulate without electricity. Despite the gas emissions, they are still a popular choice.

The effectiveness of patio heaters with live flames varies depending on the environment. Is the area relatively sheltered from the wind? Is it positioned centrally or at the edge of the patio? It can unevenly distribute the heat produced by live flames when winds blow strong enough, so position your patio hater with care.

A great alternative is the infrared patio heater. Despite the fact that they have usually big and extremely hot heating elements in a protective casing. Often they have a metal grill at the front of the heater for safety. Because of the fierce infrared heat that the heater emits, they are often wall-mounted or ceiling mounted to keep people safe. As the type of element and level of heat varies per heater, there is will be a heater to suit every kind of outdoor space.

However, with the cost of electricity at a premium, electric patio heaters are not always the most practical or cost-effective solution. And when it comes down to creating a great ambience, nothing can beat an actual fire or flame.

How You Can Choose the Best Eco-Friendly Patio Heater

The holy grail must have the trifecta. In an ideal world, you choose an eco-friendly one that's portable, with a low fuel consumption rate, and that doesn't emit any unpleasant noise. Eco-friendly fuel is a must. Make sure the fuel is from a sustainable source, odourless and doesn't lead to carbon dioxide emissions.

If you don't enjoy using electricity for your heating needs, take the fuel efficiency of your choice into account. It will save you money in the long term by allowing you to save on electricity costs.

Stand-Alone Options

Stand-alone patio heaters are the most common type of outdoor heater, and they work well in a variety of outdoor spaces. Purchase one as a unit that stands alone or with wheels for added mobility. If you have a large yard, you might need more than a unit to cover the space effectively.

If you have an electric connection in your yard, a stand-alone infrared patio heater is ideal. However, if there's no accessible electrical connection available or if you're looking to use an alternate power source like propane (LP) gas, you may need to purchase additional equipment such as a floor mount to keep the heater upright or an attachment hose for propane tanks.

There are many types of stand-alone patio heaters on the market today. Some are very affordable and lightweight but produce only enough heat for a small area, while others provide more heating power without requiring additional attachments, but cost significantly more.

Our pellet patio heaters are of a manageable size and designed perfectly to heat a seated or standing group of people. The life flame provides ambience and the good news is wood pellets fuel it.

Wood pellets are a by-product of wood processing. Compressed together under extremely high pressure, the woody biomass turns into highly flammable pellets. Wood pellets are eco-friendly, produce low emissions and come from a sustainable source.

A small rechargeable power pack ensures that there is a slow, consistent level of combustion, generating a very efficient and long-lasting burn. The pellet patio heater will burn for at least 3 hours (depending on the environment). By swapping the used container with another container of pellets and swapping the power pack, you can double the duration with very little effort.

The cost of wood pellets is low, making it cost-effective to use a pellet patio heater. In addition, their elegant, practical design makes them a delightful addition to any patio.

How to Use Your Patio Heater Safely

Whatever you decide to purchase, be sure you know how to use it safely. There are many dangers associated with using a patio heater, such as burns and fires. The best way to avoid the dangers of a patio heater is to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the safe operation of your patio heater.

If you are searching for an eco-friendly patio heater, you want to make sure that it is both safe and cost-efficient. It is also important to make sure that the heater is environmentally conscious so that you can enjoy using it for a long time.

The best eco-friendly patio heaters are safe, cost-efficient and environmentally conscious.

If you're searching for an eco-friendly patio heater, you want to make sure that it is both safe and cost-efficient. Likewise, you want a heater that will not harm the environment. That's why we recommend only the highest quality devices that are thoroughly tested under rigorous conditions by our team.

We looked at the reasons for buying a bbq grill. Alternatives are outdoor kitchens with multiple burners, gas barbeques or charcoal barbeques. Increasingly, we are put off by gas grills (it would be like cooking in your kitchen). A charcoal barbecue has its charm but the learning curve before you can use a Kamodo egg successfully is disheartening.

We found the perfect BBQ grill. We are passionate about our Vulcanus Range and as a matter of fact, here are twelve reasons why.

1. The Vulcanus makes outdoor cooking a spectacular social event. The joy of cooking out in the open, gathering around an open fire and seeing food cooking is one of the great pleasures in life. The Vulcanus makes cooking a social event. It differs vastly from cooking under a lid or in an oven. If you do want a closed environment, use gorgeous cast iron pots and pans that entice people to lift a lid, stir the food and be part of the process. Gather around the Vulcanus, enjoy the spectacle or get involved, the Vulcanus is big enough!

2. The barbeque for foodies. Cooking on a barbeque often requires some niftiness around controlling the temperature and getting a stable, consistent temperature going. Instead of fiddling with levers to control airflow and heat, the Vulcanus has a unique thick ceramic lining in its fire pit. The ceramic takes heat on slowly and then radiates a stable, consistent heat to the cooking surface. As a result, it gives you multi-temperature cooking zones. Move your food around the various heat zones so it cooks just how you like it!

Reasons to buy a bbq like the Vulcanus:
Clever but deceivingly simple design

3. Modern timeless but eye-catching, innovative design. It is square for a reason. The unusual square design with ceramic lining has a patent. The unique design of the fire pit provides you with clear cooking zones of varying heat. The cooking surface of 10mm thick boilerplate steel (also used for making ships!) is perfect for cooking food and extremely hard-wearing. In addition, grooves around the edge of the cooking plates drain away excess fat and juices. The Corten steel frame gives it a beautiful orange/ brown finish that ages well and naturally blends in with the garden. A simple .stainless steel cover protects the cooking surfaces from all elements when the Vulcanus is not in use, removing the need for storage.

4. No assembly is required. Whilst the Vulcanus can be taken apart, it arrives in one piece. We will unpack and place it where you want it. The Vulcanus is extremely heavy, made of Corten steel and has a heavy-duty ceramic lining.

5. Very easy to light and maintain a fire. Three small steps, and you will have a lovely fire heating up your contemporary barbeque. Start by constructing a Jenga tower from kindling in the centre. Secondly, place a couple of fire starters in the centre. Finally, surround this with a few logs. Ensure you use kiln-dried logs for an easy start of the fire. Light the firestarters, and that is that.

6. Good things come to those who wait. The time to first cook is 45 minutes. Light the fire and then wait for the ceramic lining to absorb the heat and radiate it out. With the Vulcanus however,  you light the fire, sit back and relax. Grab a drink, and entertain your guests as there is no need to fan the flame or manage the airflow. It is all taken care of!

If these reasons are insufficient to persuade you, here are six more reasons to buy a barbeque, particularly the Vulcanus!

7. Incredibly easy to cook on. The extremely hot cooking zones are located near the centre, right by the fire. Move it further away from the fire for medium heat. The coolest zones are the corners, perfect for keeping food warm or slowly heating up dishes. In addition, you can cook directly on the fire by using the cast iron grid. Either place it directly in the square opening or use the legs provided to elevate the cast iron grid directly above the fire. Remove the ring in the centre, and you have a perfect holder for a wok.

8. Love a touch of smoke. Add subtle smokey flavours by adding wood chips to the fire. As the fire and faint smoke leak over the edges of the cooking surface, a light smokey flavour is added to the food.

9. No need to control the temperature. Keep the open fire going. It is that simple! The square design already creates clear cooking zones of varying heat. As a result, all you have to do is move the food around into the zone with the right temperature. Start a fire and add a log as and when needed to keep a steady fire going. The fire pit is designed so that wood burns evenly and efficiently.

10. Cosy up by the fire. It doubles up as a fire pit. The metal surfaces radiate a beautiful heat, taking the chill out of the air.

11. Easy to clean. Cleaning the Vulcanus is easy and requires minimal effort. First, remove the core plug at the centre of the fire pit, and brush the ash into the ashtray. Remove the ashtray to empty it and give it a rinse. Place the tray, and the core plug back in their place. Wipe the cooking surface clean with a cloth and some rapeseed oil. Put the lid on the cleaned Vulcanus, so it is ready to use the next time you want to barbecue.

12. Weatherproof. The durable Corten steel makes the Vulcanus perfect to leave outside. Consequently, it will weather every season perfectly. Use a cover to protect the grilling surface and ceramic lining.

The ultimate reasons to buy a bbq grill

In short, we want to cook food on an easy-to-light, easy-to-clean barbeque. We want an excellent cooking surface to keep food warm without any special effort. Not to mention a barbeque that uses wood as fuel, a sustainable resource. In addition, we would like a smokey flavour without applying the complex science of smoking food over a long period of time. Finally, an easy-to-operate BBQ that can cater for groups, large and small and ads ambience. By all accounts, the Vulcanus is perfect for all these reasons!

Reasons to buy a bbq: Functional design, practical and easy to use
Corten Steel blends in well in gardens

The benefit of Corten Steel products in the garden is not always obvious. Designers like it as Corten Steel is modern steel of interesting colour and texture. From the Angel of the North to simple fire bowls for the garden, Corten has proven to be very versatile.

In 1933, US Steel developed the Corten material. They aimed to eliminate the need for painting and to protect the steel from rust damage. Ironically, the answer to rust is rust!

Our Corten fire bowl is the perfect example of this. The sturdy fire bowl is made of extra-thick steel so you can leave it outdoors all year round. It will withstand damaging corrosion caused by rain or fire.

A drainage hole in the centre prevents standing water, and the steel bowl withstands high temperatures. A perfect and beautiful container for an outdoor log fire.

Corten Steel sheets are made of anti-corrosive material

Corten is a combination of a particular group of steels and alloys. Specially made to form a stable rust-like appearance after a long period of exposure to weather. This is the so-called weathering steel effect.

The unique combination of alloys results in controlled corrosion, forming a patina that provides a protective layer against corrosion and weather. This chemical composition of this layer provides effective corrosion resistance. The layer protecting the steel might look like rust, but it is protecting the steel from corrosive rust!

Corten is low maintenance and durable

In our range, we have Pellet patio heaters produced from extra-thick Corten steel sheets. As a result, they require little maintenance upkeep. The protective layer of rust that prevents further corrosion means that it will last for decades.

Our pellet patio heaters are not only elegant in design but use eco-friendly fuel, namely wood pellets. Moulded into a circular or square pillar, the Corten steel sheets hide the fuel mechanism. The fire at the top of the pillar heats any patio beautifully and provides a mesmerizing show of flames. Check out the Corten cube pellet patio heater (square) and a Corten core pellet patio heater (round) on our website.

Perfect heat resistance

An added benefit is the heat-resistant and heat radiation capability of the metal. Because of its makeup, the Corten material withstands heat without increasing corrosion. This makes it perfect for fire bowls, pellet patio heaters, and our favourite, a BBQ grill such as the Vulcanus.

Our Vulcanus range has simple rectangular stands made of Corten steel and has a steel fire pit with ceramic lining. The Corten steel outer layer frames the grill to protect the Vulcanus from the damaging effect of the elements. This is a unique, patented barbeque. In addition, its fire pit produces a beautiful wood fire and a sustainable stable heat that is perfect for outdoor cooking.

In summary, there are many reasons to like Corten Steel. But in the end, it is a subjective choice. We love the beautiful rusty brown colouring of the steel. The various shades of natural brown and orange make it perfect for use outdoors.

The natural hues make it blend in perfectly with natural materials whilst still maintaining a very contemporary feel. Architectural shapes in the garden always make beautiful focal points and often are a great conversation piece.

Whether you have a classic or modern garden, our Corten Steel Products are worth a look!

Yes, we really think we possibly have the best wood BBQ Grill in the world...ever! Our Vulcanus range has us shouting from the rooftops. Our team comprises foodies with a passion for outdoor cooking. It is not about the hype; it is not about the gadgets (although we admit - we love a good gadget or multi-tool).

The reasons behind our passion for outdoor cooking vary. It definitely changes the way you look at a BBQ or BBQ grill. Do you need it to be portable? Is the type of fuel you use important to you? Do you want a BBQ that lasts or is easy to set up and clean, or is storing one too much of a hassle and does it stay outside, unsheltered?

Before we explore the various reasons that support this statement, let's deal with the basic question first.

BBQ or barbeque grill, is there a difference?

The short answer is a simple yes. Barbequing and grilling are two very different ways of cooking. The confusing part is this: grilling is the act of cooking something hot and fast without smoke and lid and over high heat. To barbeque means roasting or broiling food on a rack or revolving spit in a container (or closed environment).

So here is the confusing bit - to cook outdoors, you often use a BBQ! You can both barbeque and grill on a modern BBQ. Gas BBQs or charcoal barbeques often have a lid, so you can cook your food slowly over a period.

Simply put, barbecuing and grilling are two different cooking methods used on a BBQ. There is a vast range of BBQs on the market, with the main differentiators being size, fuel, accessories, ease of use, and lifespan. We like the fire pit BBQ grill combination.

Why invest in a BBQ?

No really, why do you want to buy a BBQ? For example, is it because you are cooking outdoors often? In that case, you probably don’t want to spend a long time getting a fire going–maybe gas is the better option for you. The number of people you cook for outdoors regularly will dictate the size of the BBQ itself.

If you are fond of outdoor adventures and camping, you will need a portable BBQ. If this is the case, the Vulcanus range is not for you. Our Solo Stove Grill or the Valiant foldable BBQ are better suited.

Foodies will give the choice of fuel for the BBQ a lot of thought. If you love the char-grilled taste, a charcoal BBQ is the way to go. Getting it fired up takes a while, but let’s face it, it is part of the fun. Especially if you don’t do it often and it is part of the reason to have a garden party.

Enjoy a lovely subtle smokey flavour on BBQ food

Then there are the foodies that love grilling, have a passion for a good fire to gather around, and spend an afternoon and evening eating, relaxing, and making the night last as long as possible. These foodies know that there is nothing like the natural flavouring of wood smoke on your food.

Nothing as complex as smoking food, but the simple flavouring achieved when grilling food above or near a wood fire. The wood selected with care can not only add to the flavours of your meal but will also add an ambience to the event that is exciting, relaxing and fun. This brings us to, in our opinion, the best BBQ Grill ever!

With any BBQ, always consider the cleaning and storage aspects. Is it easy to clean after use? What maintenance is required to keep it rust-free? How easy is it to move and store for re-use? Ask yourself if you are disciplined enough to clean the whole BBQ after its use. How much time are you willing to spend on cleaning, storing and set-up? Is a permanent BBQ area or an outdoor kitchen possible?

The best BBQ grill ever, introducing the Vulcanus range.

Yes, and we are deadly serious about this. We really think it is that good! The Vulcanus is a nice focal point in the garden. Its square shape is unusual and eye-catching.

The contemporary design in Corten steel makes it easily fit in any garden design. The rusty-brown Corten steel ages beautifully over time and actually protects the BBQ from damaging rust.

The square BBQ grill is unusual but very practical. It gives you an optimal size grilling surface with zones of varying heat for easy grilling. Move food from the extremely hot edges by the fire outwards or in the corner for lower heat and slower cooking. The fire pit in the centre is not just a fire pit. The fire pit for the wood is not only easily accessible, but it also has a ceramic lining. This fire pit bbq grill combination with a ceramic centre sets it apart from others.

Good things come to those who wait

The ceramic lining of the Vulcanus pit is key to a stable, easy to maintain temperature for the grilling surface. Likewise, getting a fire started in this pit is easy. Simply build a Jenga construction of kindling first, with fire starters on top, framed by kiln-dried wood.

The fire will start instantly. Because of the ceramic lining, the wood burns hotter, longer and more efficiently, leaving little ash. The comfortable heat radiating from the Vulcanus makes you cosy up around the fire.

Give the Vulcanus time to heat the ceramic and grill surface. It takes 45 minutes to achieve the perfect cooking temperature. The corners are ‘cold zones’ so you can move cooked food there, so it stays warm but does not burn.

The little groove on the edge of the grilling surface drains excess fats, juices and oils so that it does not run into other foods on the grill. In addition, as the square BBQ surface is accessible from all sides, it is easy for everyone to get involved with the cook. Grill, bake, fry and roast to your heart’s content.

A barbeque that gets better the more you use it

Like with all good things, the Vulcanus gets better each time you use it. However, in this case, the more seasoned the grill plate is, the better it cooks and the better the food tastes. For the more adventurous cooks, add the multi-grid for cooking tasty paella and mind-blowing stir-fries.

The Vulcanus comes in 2 sizes (73cm and 91cm diameter) and three variations. As a fire pit BBQ grill, the Campus is perfect for cooking while sitting down. The taller Chef is easy to stand around and then there is the MasterChef. The MasterChef has a cooking and preparation area attached to the BBQ grill.

The Corten steel construction is built to last and you simply leave it outside throughout all seasons. Consequently, there is no need to move it, the weight will easily withstand heavy winds. A simple cover protects the cooking surface. If you clean after every use by simply wiping the cooking surface and emptying the ashtray, the Vulcanus will be ready to use the next time you lift the cover.

Tip number 1: Make a list

First things first, plan! Nothing is more stressful than finding out that you forgot an essential ingredient or utensil for the cook. Even if you are cooking outdoors in your garden, constantly running in and out of the house whilst cooking increases the chances of eating badly burned food.

Make a list and be thorough. Consider easy camping recipes as cooking a good camping breakfast sets you up for the day. Plan what you are going to cook and in which order.

When you pack your bags, pack the things you cook last first. More importantly, keep your menu simple and easy to cook. Simple does not equal bland, tasty is the way forward!

Even for a great BBQ at home, ensure that flavours and dishes complement each other. If you want rich flavours, think of marinades or fresh herbs, as this will minimise the need for condiments. Make up your skewers beforehand, pre-mix your seasoning in one container.

To keep food juicy or moist when cooking, wrap each portion in an aluminium foil pack. As a result, you do not need to use a pan as it will cook on its own steam without sticking to the BBQ. The foil makes it easy to serve and fun to unpack and eat!

Tip number 2: Choose your outdoor cooking equipment wisely

Make sure that your grill BBQ is fit for purpose. Lightweight and easy to install if you take it with you on your travels for campsite cooking. Remember that size matters if you want it to be big enough to cater to the number of people with you.

Consider practicalities such as the fuel for the BBQ. Make sure you have enough. Is your BBQ efficient in fuel use and easy to light? Make sure you have your firestarters at the ready. Ensure you have sufficient fuel to maintain the fire of your camping stove or gas barbeque.

Is your cooking equipment suitable for camping or outdoor cooking? Whether it is stainless steel, cast iron or wood, a multipurpose tool is the way to go. Many tools and gadgets help you cook up a storm and make gourmet meals outdoors.

Tip number 3: Be safe when cooking outdoors

Safety often means the not interesting sensible part. However, executed well, it will make your outdoor cooking look effortless, easy and fun for everyone involved.

Choose the place for your BBQ wisely. Pay attention to the direction of the wind or smoke. As a result, you know where to sit to keep out of the smoke! Is the flame slightly sheltered so you can achieve a reasonable even cook?

Ensure the storage and prep area for the food is in easy reach of the BBQ, including your serving material. If the answer to these questions is yes, you will make the cook look effortless and an enjoyable experience for all involved.

You prepped your food. Check. You set your BBQ up. Check. Your cooking equipment is at the ready. Check. It is time to light that fire!

Tip number 4: Manage the fire and cook like a pro!

Charred food heightens flavours where burnt food does not. A good char requires a piping hot surface with a steady heat. Before you start, check if the temperature on your oiled cooking surface is right and stable. Why not try one of our easy recipes?

Decide which food needs a char as variety is the spice of life! You are looking for a dark caramel colour, not blackened burnt food. Keep your eye on the food as it can turn from charred to burned in less than a second!

A steady heat is all you need for a marvellous outdoor cooking experience. As you set up comfortably and conveniently, you can enjoy the continuous management of food on the grill whilst enjoying the company of your loved ones.

Monitor the fire and make sure that there is enough fuel. You do not want the heat to die down in the middle of your campsite cooking.

Tip number 5: Keep it warm or store it wisely and end in style

Last but not least, decide whether you want to cook on demand or cook everything in one go. Do you have a plan for the leftovers?

Be careful with cooking food, do not leave cooked food out in the open for over 2 hours and keep it out of the sun. Cook everything through and have clean hands when dealing with food.

End your cook in style and with a flourish. There are plenty of fruit-based desserts perfect for outdoor cooking that look sensational. Do not, however, forget the timeless DIY favourite for all ages. The humble S’more!
